I am installing a new lower oven element. In doing so the clip attached to the wire coming out of the back of the range broke off so I can`t slide the element clip onto the range wire clip. I temporarily connected the element clip to the wire and used electrical tape to fasten them together so they can`t come in contact with the metal back of the backguard and short it out. I need to know if this is safe as the element does function normally. I also need to know the part number of the backguard wire clip so I can order one and do the job
ANSWER Hello Terry. No, this is not safe to do. You will need to order high temperature terminals TJMA02875-1 and repair the broke wire. Hope this helps.
