Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
My ice make stopped working a few weeks ago and I noticed on the firdge door an error which says ice E3 (top of the E is missing so it looks like an inverted F.
I replaced the solenoid valve but it did not fix the problem. What part should I replace next? And what does that error mean?
ANSWER Byron, It sounds like you need an ice maker assembly 4317943 , but try this first. Remove the front white plastic cover from the front of the ice maker, tape the freezer door switch down,Short T&H openings with an insulated piece of wire (14 gauge) to run the motor (hold the wire ends in the openings until the main gear start to rotate. If it doesn't start to rotate in a few seconds, try it again, before you replace the ice maker. If it starts to rotate, remove the wire and allow the ice maker toy advance, it should perform a complete cycle, including the fill.
