Recently purchased and replaced lower washer arm and volute cover. The old washer arm had fallen on the heating element and melted. Now the pump will not start/run during the wash cycle. The water fills OK and the pump will run to pump out the water -- but not to operate the wash cycle. After filling with water, it doesn't "kick in." Again, it will pump out (drain). What could be the problem?
You will want to check to make sure that power is going to the circulation pump. Also you will want to check the water temperature to make sure that the water in the tub is at least 120 degrees. It may be that the heater could have been damaged when the arm fell off and the water is not getting hot enough to allow the unit to cycle.
