My water dispenser and ice maker is barely working. The water drips out to make a full glass you have to stand there for 15-20 minutes and if you press the water lever it will come out a little more than it goes back to drip. It isn't making ice anymore. Before it would make ice chips that would melt instantly in water. What options or suggestions is there than I can try? I'm thinking of buying a new filter. Is that a good idea? There are no holes in any of the hoses.

ANSWER Hello Vada, This sounds like you could have a water reservoir freezing up in the bottom of the fresh food compartment. You can test this theory by heating the water reservoir with a hair dryer for about 15 minutes. If the water pressure is restored after doing this, set the fresh food compartment to one setting COLDER and the freezer one setting warmer. I know this sounds backwards but it is a lack of air circulation that causes this condition. Setting the fresh food compartment colder will cause the fans to kick on more often, preventing the colder air from settling to the bottom of the compartment and freezing the water reservoir.
