Washer fills and then nothing happens. I can hear a humming sound and the belt is intact could it be the motor? If so how could I test the motor beore buying one I may not need?
ANSWER Hi. Remove the front cover. With the belt removed, turn the main pulley back and forth to see if the transmission WH38X10002 and brake is free. If not then see if the upper spin bearing WH2X1198 at the tub and seal part # WH02X10032 has leaked and seized the bearing. Spin the motor part # WH20X10019 to see if the bearings are locked up. Then Start the washer in a low fill cycle. Is the motor humming now? It will if the clutch is locked up or bad bearings. Turn the unit off and remove the clutch clip and the clutch itself. Start the motor and see if it is free or is locked up. Thank You.
