My washer started making a loud banging at the end of the wash cycle. After it filled for the final rinse it didn't agitate much. It then drained, but would not do the final spin. I started to smell something then turned it off. I took off the front cover and the motor was really hot. Not sure if it's the motor or transmission. Open for suggestions...
ANSWER Hello David,
You will want to check to make sure that the tub bearings are not seizing up causing the unit to stall in spin and slow agitation. Put unit in spin and when it is done spinning, if you check the bearings and they are extremely hot then the bearings are bad.
