How much up and down play on the shaft should there be ? Mine moves up & down about 3/4 of an inch.

ANSWER Hello Tom,
There should not be any play in the agitator or the transmission shaft. If you are getting 3/4" play then check to make sure that the agitator is fully in place properly and see if transmission shaft has that much play.
