THE SOFTENER CUP IS ON TOP OF THE AGITATOR HOW DO I GET THE AGITATOR OFF. I WAS AFRAID TO REMOVE THE BOTTOM OF THE SOFTENER CUP SINCE IT SEEMS WATER TIGHT. HELP PLEASE.

If you grab ahold of the agitator bottom and give the agitator a good jerk it should come off the agitator coupling.
