My dryer suddenly started making horrible noises while running, and then quit starting completely. I took off the back access panel to release the C clamp and remove the drum, and there was shredded material sticking out around the end of the shaft. I took the drum completely out and the bushing that was on the shaft practically fell right off because it is half gone. I think this is the part I need to replace, judging from the diagram, but the picture of the part doesn't look like the half that still exists. Is this part about an inch long and slides onto the shaft? Or is my part so destroyed that what's left looks nothing like it started out? I just want some assurance that I'm ordering the right thing. Thanks!
ANSWER Hello Elizabeth. If the drum had locked up, you will need to replace the front brackets and glides WE25X60 and rear bearing kit WE25M40.
