Machine is 15 yrs old. Is it normal for the clutch to have some play in it? It's out of the washer(still attached to motor)and you can pull it up and down 1/8" or so. There's a little play when you rotate it back and forth. Can you test it out of the washer?
ANSWER Hello Chris. It is normal for the clutch to have a little play in it after 15 years of use. However, to much play can cause the clutch to slip. There is no way to test the clutch outside of the machine. You will need to reinstall it to test the clutch. If it is slipping, you will need to replace the clutch assembly WH5X256. Hope this helps.
