Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful

A pillow got caught in the lid of my washer, and seems to have seperated the cover tub (AP2047607) from the rim on the underside of the Lid Assembly (AP2047361). There is a gap there and some melted plastic (from the friction while the pillow was caught) on the inside of the lid rim as well as the tub cover (the source of the melted plastic). Now, as i try and stretch the cover tub over the metal rim, it seems lust a bit too difficult. Before i break anything, can you help me out with some instructions? is the cover tub supposed to interface with teh rim on the underside of the washer lid? Thanks!

Rob for Model Number wbse3120b2ww

ANSWER Rob, Here are the basic instructions, " SPIN BASKET" To service spin basket: 1.Remove front panel and cover/lid. 2.Disconnect four(4) dampening straps from tub, attached by 5/16" hex head screws. 3.Remove tub cover by lifting out eight(8) tabs on tub cover, and pulling cover off. The tub cover can be a bit difficult to re install and snap back into plce, but there should need to be any "stretching". As for the tub cover interfacing with the bottom of the cover panel or lid, No, it doesn't, There should be a gap between the top of the tub cover and the "lip"(underside) of the cover panel/lid opening, this allows the basket assembly to move freely, in the event of an off balnced load.
