Fresh food freezes. Refrigerator temperature control has continuity in the cold position. Damper control door does not close completely; i.e., it closes about 7/8th of the way. Air flow from the damper window is contunuous. Is the fan part of the damper control and is it suppose to stop the fan when the refrigerator-set temperature is reached? Damper part number is WR09X10002.

ANSWER Hello Robert, The fan is not a part of the damper assembly and only turns off when the thermostat is satisfied. If the damper WR09X10002 isn't closing, it could be blocked with frost from an air leak or it may simply be defective. It is not designed to ever close all the way. It sounds more like the temperature control WR9X521 has failed.
