I purchased defrost thermostat part # wr50x10068. This came up under the parts diagram for my model refrigerator. When I took apart the fridge however, the thermostat is different looking. The defrost heater is also different as well. Are the parts numbers wrong for this model?
The defrost heater in the actual fridge has one wire connector on each side. The heater I purchased, again from the parts diagram for this model #, has two wire connectors for each side and has two heat conductor tubes as opposed to one in the original part I have pulled out. Please advise ASAP!
ANSWER Austin, according to the model number given the replacement heater element is WR51X10042 and thermostat is WR50X10068. The parts listed are manufacturer replacement parts and may differ in appearance but is a functional equivalent to the original. Thanks.
