The freezer actually gets warm during the defrost cycle melting the ice in the ice drawer. We have replaced the motherboard twice and one of the thermisters in the freezer (upper one), but the problem seems to be getting worse. Any thoughts?
ANSWER Hello Doug,
The defrost thermostat is the usual cause of this complaint. You see, it is the job of the defrost thermostat to turn off the defrost heater when the evaporator compartment reaches 50°F. This prevents anything in the freezer compartment from thawing and refreezing.
