My ice maker doesn't dispense ice. Should the drive mechanism move freely when I take out the tray? It appears to be frozen in place. Any suggestions?
ANSWER Hello Barbara, the first thing you want to make sure is that the motor is running/humming. You can open the door, press in the door switch to turn off the cabinet light and have someone press the ice paddle to see if the motor is getting power. If you are not able to hear the motor run, you will want to make sure your switch on the door is sending power to the motor. This will require a multi meter: TJMA-DMT3, when you press the paddle you should get a voltage reading on your meter. If you don't you might have to replace the switch WR23X10783. If you get power to the motor, then it could just be the dispenser motor WR60X10258. Hope you find these pointers helful!
