I have an older model Hotpoint dryer. It eventually stopped blowing hot air. It still works fine except for that. I was told it was either the Heating element or the thermal fuse. I have no clue to where they are even located. In lamen terms.

ANSWER Pete, When you lift the main top, should be 2 screw in the door opening holding top in place or spring clips in between the main top and front panel, the heating element is located at the back part of the drum. You would have to disassembly the unit to see the element. The thermal fuse is on the heater housing in the same location at the back of the drum.
