I replaced the ignitor, and now it the oven takes at least one minute to ignite. I smell the gas prior to it igniting. I read that you mentioned a safety valve. Is the gas valve supposed to stay closed until the ignitor is hot enough? just wondering if that could be a problem, or is it normal to have the gas smell.
You will want to double check to make sure that the igniter is positioned properly on the burner. Also check to make sure that there is nothing clogging the ports of the burner itself. If all this checks ok then the oven safety valve would most likely be the issue.
