Getting ice build up around ice maker. Does the funnel recess sheild help keep air out of the icemaker ? Thank you
ANSWER Hi Kevin. The funnel recess sheild directs cold air across the ice maker to allow it to produce faster ice. Part # WR17X3095. A couple of things to note first. Is the unit door seals properly sealing ? Carefully look around the gaskets and the ice maker chute flap to make sure all of this is sealing well. Especially look at the under side of the gasket corners. You need to open one side at a time and tape the door switch shut. This way if the door is not closing all the way you will see the light stay on and see the gap in the door gasket accordingly. What are the controls set to ? If the freezer is more then 0-/-2°, it is too cold and will distribute moisture in the wrong areas. Is the water valve- to -ice maker line cabinet gasket properly sealing at the back of the cabinet also. Where is the outside air coming in from ? The controls will be recommended set at the mid point settings w/ the fresh food slightly higher if you like the milk colder. Thank You.
