The oven door gasket WB2X1522 does not go around the entire rib of the inner core. GE told me this was the correct part number. I loosened the core nuts and pulled the core out about 1 inch but the gasket would need to be stretched substantially to go completely around the core.
We bought the stove used and there was very little of the old gasket and I assume the area that doesn't need sealing is the bottom. I can feel three vent like areas in the bottom of the frame the oven core slides into.
Can you tell me if I'm missing something?
Also, the area at the top middle has a V shape that is filled with fiberglass insulation and needs to be replaced. Is this standard pink insulation? What is there is half missing or compressed and the top of the stove will get hot above that area.
Thank you for your time.
Based on your model number it appears that the correct door gasket would be part number WB2X6222 but has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no replacement available.
