I am trying to install a replacement filter. My wife ordered the adaptor with the new filter. The MWF filter I took out looks identical to the relacement MWF filter. Why do I need the adaptor. Isn't the one already in the unit okay to use? Thanks.

ANSWER Hello David! The adapter is only needed for brand new MWF filter installations. If you already had a MWF filter in your product with no issues the adapter isn't needed. Thanks!
