I have this GE Electric Dryer: Model # DDSR475ET4WW . This dryer is from around the 1997 timeframe. Works great otherwise. So far I"ve only had to replace the Green colored bearing slides.
The high heat cycle seems to not be heating correctly. I can dry load of clothes on the medium (permanent press cycle) but when trying to use the High Heat Cottons cycle it seems to not work properly. I've cleaned all of the lint out of the ducts etc. but still performs the same. I can hold the door switch down watch it run and can see the glow of the heating element th back when on the medium setting. I switch it to cottons, high heat and the heating elements start to glow then after a very short period, say 10-15 seconds they shut off. Looks like a thermostat issue but I'm questioniong why would it continue to run on medium if it were a thermostat issue? Could be one of the heating coils? Any help is appreciated!
