I have frost build up by the ice maker and where ice comes out on the inside of the GE Monogram fridge with stainless steel door.
I can see the ice door assembly is closed. But when I put a flash light and look from outside, I can see little light coming through. The guess is the door is not air tight, causing frost inside of the fridge.
I would like to know if this issue is related to the ice door assembly, the spring, or the Solenoid, or other parts?
The model # of the fridge is ZISS420DXASS. How would I access these parts for replacement?
ANSWER Hello FX,
In order to access part you need to remove the front panel of dispenser. You may be able to remove the control board of the dispenser by just pullin it out from the bottom. If you cannot do this then you will need to remove the trim. Once the control is removed you would remove the 4 screws holdiing the dispenser assembly in place. Remove the dispenser assembly and you can check the solenoid WR62X10055 to see if it is rusty. If rusty it will not allow door to close all the way. Also check your ice door WR17X11653 for warping.
