How do you remove the ice maker door trim to change the solenoid?
ANSWER Hello Tom,
Most of these are the same and no screws have to be removed. Unplug the unit before beginning to prevent electrical shock. Remove the drip tray and grasp the bottom edge of the decorative front cover. Yank down and toward you with your knee against the door so it cannot open when you pull. This should pop the bottom half loose. The cover will now be raised straight up to un-clip it from the top. I usually use a strip of electrical tape to hold it up out of the way while I work. This prevents the necessity of any wire removal, eliminating the possibility of crossing any wiring upon re-assembly.
