Our icemaker door has been stuck closed for some time. We defrosted and it still was jammed. We tried turned the ice crusher manually to see if that would help, and it made it open a little more. We then tried running the dispenser to loosen it, and apparently the ice maker itself got knocked down off its mounting on the top of the compartment -- worsening the problem Now we're stuck. How can we get into this drawer to assess what's wrong without destroying the whole drawer assembly? I'm afraid that kind of expense might make ice trays not so bad anymore. This whole thing seems like a really bad design.
If the icemaker is jammed in the bin where you cannot get the bin out, then you will basically have to force it out. There is not a easy way to remove the bin or the front of the bin in hopes of dislodging the icemaker.
