The main unit of the IM6 (AP2718821) kit looks to be the same part as the the replacement ice maker AP4345120. What is the difference in these two units that 1. makes the kit not work as a replacement unit and 2. for a more price? This is for a 2003 GE side-by-side. Thanks.
ANSWER Hello Ron! The IM6 IM6 is a complete add on it for brand new installations only. This comes with all parts necessary to install a brand new ice maker in a refrigerator that did not come with a factory installed ice maker. The WR30X10093 is the replacement ice maker used to replace the IM6 when it has failed. Anytime you purchase an item as a kit it is significantly cheaper than purchasing items separately. Thanks.
