I am trying to remove this part off the main motor shaft. I have removed the motor to replace it and need to romove this part. I have unscrewed the propeller off the shaft and then unscrewed the top piece. then there was 2 pieces that came off. I am down to the 2 last pieces on the shaft and I don't know how to get them off. I can't see the lower part because the housing of the propler is still on. I tried to pull on it but it is spring loaded. What do I need to do to get it off?
ANSWER Brett, You did dismount the motor/impeller assembly from the sump, it's a lot easier to work with and access the impeller assembly. Once you remove the chopper and the stainless steel ring(you have to turn it until the tabs line up and then you can remove it, and everything should slip off the motor shaft. Thanks.
