What keeps the mini evaporator in fresh food section from from icing up? It was completely blocked with ice. I had to thaw it out with a blow dryer. There is no defrost heater, only a thermister mounted to back of coil. Have not seen this model before.
ANSWER Appliance Guy, You're correct, this refrigerator has a refrigerator evaporator with out a heater. " Fresh Food Evaporator Defrost Cycle
The refrigerator utilizes a forced air cycle defrost method (no electric heater) to remove frost from the fresh food evaporator. Fresh food air that is above freezing temperature circulates thru the coil and melts any accumulated frost. Note that during fresh food defrost, the compressor may still be running, cooling only the freezer section." You are most likely looking for an air leak, or a usage situation. We'll send you some information that may help you out, or give you a better idea of how the refrigerator functions.
