I purchased main board for my side by side GE refrigerator because it quit working and only thing that was working was the lights. I installed the new Main Board without any wire modification. I waited a while and now temp control panel and water dispenser working, also looks like back of freezer has very light frost on it so appears to be working. The air is not flowing between the fresh food side and freezer. I had replaced the Evaporator Fan Motor only about 2 years ago so it should be good. Has not been long enough to know if will make ice. So, it appears that the Evaporator Fan motor not kicking in? Please help, Thanks
ANSWER Hello Rich,
The evaporator fan motor has most likely failed. You should check for voltage at the fan motor connection. If the fan motor has voltage to it, the fan motor has failed. If there is no voltage, the board has an issue. Be aware on many models, the door switch has to be pressed in as though the door is shut before the evaporator fan motor will kick on and run.
