I have a Ge dishwasher that's about 7 years old and just does not clean well at all even when we use lemi-shine to help clean. The water pressure coming out of the unit seems fine and the blades that disburse the water look clean to me. The one person that I talked to suggested a Mechanism assembly GE WD26X10045 AP4508069 that costs 165.00. If that is the problem should I spend that much on a 7 year old dishwasher? I'm afraid to spend the money and have the same problem.
Thanks for your help.
ANSWER Hello George,
You will want to check down in the pump assembly to ensure that your filters are clean and to make sure that there is nothing that is clogged up as this is the cause with most units that are not cleaning properly. Inadequate water pressure from pump. If this does not correct then you may need the mechanism.
