i need to replace the blower housing and was wondering how to remove the blower fan from the motor.
ANSWER Hello Daniel,
After you have the blower shroud lose, while wearing gloves, remove the blower wheel from the motor by using a 22 millimeter socket while a large pair of vice grips are clamped onto the motor shaft, (not on the pulley!). Strike the ratchet handle with your rubber mallet in a counterclockwise direction. This should break it free and you can spin it free from the shaft as the shroud is slowly backed away from the motor, Of course the retainers will have to be removed after breaking the wheel loose from the motor shaft.
