I also have an auger motor problem. It happened after a power outage. The motor seems to be locked. I can't turn the U-shaped armature by hand. Is it a normal condition to to be unable to turn the motor by hand?
ANSWER Paul, It can be hard to turn, due to the gear ratio, but you should be able to turn it by hand. I would not expect a power outage to create a problem with the auger motor, it may be a coincidence. With the auger motor stuck, it will make it easier to remove the drive yoke from the shaft( turn the yoke counterclockwise to remove). Remove the ice bucket, bucket shelf, and protector, remove the four(4) screws holding the housing to the walls, slide the assembly out far enough to disconnect the wiring harnes then the remainder of the way out.
Thanks and Good Luck
