Replaced the motor with this kit (WE17X100100). Noticed the length of the shaft is longer in the front (where the blower wheel goes) and shorter in the back (where I was able to fit one of the included pulleys well enough to line up with the idler pulley). My first attempt positioning the new style bracket failed as the blower wheel was binding against the front panel. My second attempt seemed to resolve this issue by completely installing motor and blower with the bracket loose then tightening it (on one the one side available in that position) once everything was in place - which aligned it approximately in a center position (rather than all the way back as I had originally placed it). My first loaded run went well for about 15 minutes until the blower wheel started striking the front panel. Tried it once since the dryer cooled and it works when cool. Numerous thoughts on modifications of either the blower wheel (is the new blower wheel you sell any thinner perchance?) or the rear bracket screws buzzing through my head - perhaps standoff washers and a seal around the blower housing?. I do not have any room left to back the motor out via the bracket. Open to suggestions.
ANSWER Hello Colin,
The last one of these I installed, I had to mount the motor shifted to one direction in the motor strap. It did take a few tries to get it aligned properly but this is all you can do where the manufacturer changes the design and makes the original part unavailable.
