I just replaced the motor on my GE dryer. It is much louder than the old one. Is this normal? While spinning the shaft on the new motor before I installed it I notice a "tick" sound on every revolution. Something to be concerned about if I can put up with the noise? The old motor did not make the same sound. I pulled the drum and ran it to verify that the noise is from the motor.
Based on the information it sounds like you may have received a bad motor. The motor should not have a tick to it when you spin it by hand.
