My GE dryer runs but doesn’t always get hot. After running for a while the motor will not always restart. I checked the heat sensors with a multi meter and they are OK, and the igniter looks good. I am thinking the motor needs to be replaced because it will not always restart after running and I am assuming it will not flow enough air to allow the burner to ignite. What do you recommend?
ANSWER Hi. If the motor does not stay running then it has either bad bearings, dragging armature, shorted windings or centrifugal switch contacts. Therefore it will also open the heat circuit passing through separate centrifugal contacts as well. Either way the motor part # WE17X10010 needs replaced. Correct all vent issues with kinking or clogs. Thank You.
