Ive got a GE profile side by side purchased in Jan of 09. Recently the water flow has been getting slow and has now stopped from the water dispenser. Ive changed the filter and still nothing. Ive unhooked and snaked all of the lines with trimmer string and have found no blockages, freezing etc. Even unhooked the blue quick connect ot the bottom of the freezer door and have no water flow. Ive removed the back access at the bottom of the fridge to access the valves. They are turning on, but there is no water coming to them from the filter. Ive tried the filter bypass and still have no flow. My question is, Ive now got the filter housing removed, if it is unhooked from the valve body with the line going into my sink, and the supply side is hooked up, with the filter installed, or filter bypass, should it flow water out the valve side line. I would think it should, but it does not. The check valve seems to be ok since the filter did fill with water and if I push it with a blunt object, it will flow. If I blow thru the valve side of the line, air travels freely thru the filter housing.... Im stumped and thirsty. Help!
ANSWER Hello Scott. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve WR57X10032 is bad and will need to be replaced. If there is power coming to the water valve, and the water is turned on, but no water coming out, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit. Hope this helps.
