My oven screw holding the ignitor broke. Can I use any similar screw or does it have to be a special one used on appliances? The range is a GE profile. I bought a zinc screw 10x32. Will it work or will it melt?
ANSWER Hello S.M.H.,
I would recommend to use a steel screw because of its' expansion and contraction. A zinc screw may seize and twist off the next time you have to remove it. A stainless steel screw would work great but would be overkill.
