I have a GE gas range model JGSP28SEN1SS. I used the oven on the bake setting yesterday, but when I went to use it tonight the display said pre-heat, but the oven was not getting got at all. Upon further inspection I noticed the stove top burners and the oven broiler were working fine. When I removed the oven bottom plate I also noticed that when I turned the oven on bake the igniter didn't get red or orange or seem to be doing anything. I think the igniter may be my problem but wanted to confirm before I purchased a knew one. Also, why is there no gas coming from the burner? Is this a safety feature?
The will be no gas until the valve has a voltage reading of 3.2 to 3.6 vac. If the voltage does not reach this then the igniter is faulty and would need to be replaced.
