My oven will heat up but then stop working in the middle of cooking. The ignitor glows orange but there doesn't seem to be gas flowing. There is no smell of natural gas. The top burners and broiler work but the oven does not...any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

Alex for Model Number GE Spectra Natural Gas Range XL144

ANSWER Hello Alex. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve WB19K14. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
