I turn on the oven to pre-heat....it comes on and will reach 100 degrees then shut off on its own or it will start to heat up and just shut off on its own. If it reaches the desired temp, it will shut off in the middle of my baking. I tried replacing the element, and that did not resolve the issue. It happens on broil mode as well. This problem first appeared after I self cleaned the oven. The range was purchased in 1994 or 1995 and is an electric slide in range. What part do I need to replace? What is the proper part number? thanks

ANSWER Hello Kay. Test the temp sensor in the unit and make sure it reads around 1100 ohms at room temp and 1650 ohms at 350°. If so, you will need to order and replace the control on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
