One of the power nuts on the drive screws is stripped, but the screw itself is fine (verified by running the undamaged power nut down both screws). The nut itself is somewhat unusual as it is quite deep (about double a standard nut) and round with two with flat sides that "floats/swivels" inside a metal housing that is held together with the mounting screws. This allows it to self align. This GE part looks like it may be an updated encapsulated version of mine. Can you determine if this will serve as a replacement or do you have the exact replacement for the Hotpoint HCH500 Trash Compactor? Its worked great all these years and can be repaired if I can find the part. Thanks for your help!
ANSWER Hello. The power ram nut for your unit has been discontinued by the manufacturer and we have no old stock or substitute parts. I'm sorry. I hope this info helps!
