Ice machine is not getting water & no water out the door. When the water line at the bottom of the door and the water switch is pressed, water comes out at the bottom of the door. I have checked the solenoid and when you hit the switch it sends water to the door. I don't know how to check the solenoid for the ice maker but the ice maker is not getting water. I can only conclude that the switch board in the door is not working properly. It is a four button switch board. Can you give me any other information to help me fix this problem?
ANSWER Daniel, If you get water at the freezer door dispenser water tube, then the actuator switch, solenoid and dispenser switch are OK. If you have a frozen water tank, or frozen tube inb the freezer door, that would explain the dispenser issue, The icemaker is a semi independent system and the solenoid is activated by the icemaker control head. The only "common" issue, would be an intermittent relay or loose connection on the "motherboard" on the back of the refrigerator and the fill valve. Here's how to start a test mode for the icemaker "• Make sure IM is on – green indicator is lit. • Turn IM off. • Wait at least 20 seconds. • Turn IM back on. • Move feeler arm in 3 full times." and the icemaker will start a test mode, as long as the door light switch is taped down and closed, you can observe the icemaker operation, so we'll have a better idea of the issue. Thanks
