Trying to diagnose a problem with my washer. It was running, and it suddenly stopped agitating, and it smelled like hot rubber/smoke. The motor still runs, but it does not agitate. No money for a repair man, we must repair it ourselves. Please help, if you can?
ANSWER Hello Cindy. Check and see if something has the inner basket stuck. Chec kand make sure nothing is stuck between the inner and outer tubs. If the tub can be turned by hand, you will need to check and see if the belt WH07X10009 is good on the unit. If the belt is good, and there is nothing between the tubs, then you may need to replace the transmission WH38X10014 on the unit. Hope this helps.
