My over the range microwave has started to make noise, a tinny rattling when I try to heat some thing. With just the vent fan on no noise. I turn the turntable off and run it noise is still there. Sounds like the noise is coming from the inside top. Would this be the stirrer assembly. If so how do I replace it, how difficult would it be. Can the microwave stay in place or do I have to take it down and take the cover off. Any special tools needed? Thanks.
ANSWER Hello Frank. You need to take the microwave down and remove the outer cover. Then look for loose parts causing the noise in the unit. It could be the stirrer, but is not likly to be that. If it were, the food would not cook properly.
