I recently replaced the ice tray in my freezer. The stirr up for my solenoid is actively moving between my choices of "Crushed" or "Cubed", but it does not pull the wire actuator up high enough to effectively open the flap. There doesn't seem to be enough initial contact between the actuator and the stirrup in "Crushed" mode for there to be full motion in the flap when the position changes to "Cubed". The solenoid appears to move the stirrup all the way, but that motion is not transferred to the actuator. It seems that full contact is not made between the actuator and the stirrup until the end of its motion. I constantly get crushed ice as a result. Does this sound common? Are you aware of any ways to fix this? Thank you in advance.
ANSWER Hello Levar. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the solenoid WR62X58 is weak and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
