My GE telescoping downdraft is stuck in the UP position. The fan still works. I'm not really sure where to start. Any suggestions?
ANSWER Hello Dean,
You will either have a bad start switch, a bad limit switch, a bad relay board or a bad motor. If you have a test meter, you can test these components. The tech sheet should be in an envelope or a sticker on the blower housing under the cabinet. This will guide you through the circuits. If you hear the unit trying to operate, you probably have a bad pivot arm.
