When you push the control knob all the way in you cannot change it to the desired selection, it just turns freely. The timer does work, the washer works as we can turn to the desired selection by manually, with great difficulty, move the white plate behind the control knob. If we purchase a new rotory switch will it fix this problem?
ANSWER Hello John,
The timer WH12X10350 sounds like the issue here. You can try lubricating it with Lubriplate TJ20000030 white lube. It doesn't take much white lube. Unplug the unit before starting this procedure. Pull the knob off and put some in all the way around the shaft then remove the control panel back and put some in the hole back there. Work the timer in and out and see if it frees up. If it does, you solved the issue. If not, the timer will require replacement.
