On this GE side by side, food is freezing in the refrigerator section. It appears from the part diagram there are 2 thermistors in the refrigerator section. How do I distinguish which one is bad? Should I replace both to be on the safe side? How do I install the new ones? Do I have to splice them to the old wires within the refrigerate section.

ANSWER Hello Tom,
Based on the information provided, you may want to pull the duct assembly out and make sure that the damper door is not broken or staying open. If it is staying open then it would cause freezing issue. At this point you would need to replace damper assembly WR49X10091. If you do have a sensor issue you would have to cut out the old sensor and splice new sensor on. If unit is freezing in entire compartment check the damper first.
