I checked the defrost timer by turning until it clicked to defrost and the heating coil in the freezer came on all the way across and started to defrost the cooling coils yet still the fresh food section of the refrigerator does not get cool. The fan kicks on and the freezer gets to below zero. Could it be the defrost thermostat?
ANSWER Hello Kev. No, based on the information you provided, the timer WR9X502 is bad and needs to be replaced. The heater would not come on if the thermostat WR50X134 was bad. You will need to clear all the ice from the coils and the opening to the refrigerator for it to work properly. Hope this helps.
