For GE Thermostat, Defrost (Part Number: AP2071271)

My GE fridge is icing up in the drain in the freezer, and the fan gets stuck in the ice. I installed a new timer, and the problem did not stop - after two weeks same problem. I verified the defrost element is coming on, and heating properly. It never did this before. The fan spins properly, the defrost element comes on correctly, etc. but warmish fridge and it runs more when icing up. So, I ordered the correct Defrost thermostat, part number WR50X133 and went to install it. The two wires are of different color than the ones on my presumed faulty defrost thermostat, so I do not know how to wire the new part. The unit currently in the fridge has a brown wire and a black wire. The new part has an orange wire, and a yellow wire. When I call here, or GE, or anywhere, no one can tell me what wire to splice to what wire. HELP??

Garka for Model Number tns22brcblbs

ANSWER Garka, You'll need to check the defrost drain and drain tube for clogs and debris, with hot water and a flexible tube or rod the carefully "push " any debris out the system. Also check the defrost pan for warpage or distortion, causing the defrost water to freeze and ice up.
