My dryer is working ok. Looked at list of parts, including the knob and timer assembly. The knob is ok; not broken. The problem is that the dryer does not turn off and on at right dial setting. It goes through the cycles but turns off with the dial in between settings instead of correct off position. Do I need a timer or is there something else wrong?
ANSWER Hello Joe,
The knob could be installed backwards or in the wrong position on the timer shaft. It could also be the incorrect knob if it has ever been replaced before. I would suspect the knob WE1M654 first. The second thing I would suspect is the knob insert WE1X980, since without the insert, the knob will not fit on the timer shaft properly.
